Good overall experience. Fairly clean hotel in a lovely building close enough to caves, Lake, walks and open hiking trails. Really helpful staff with good manners. Beautiful location in lovely surroundings, and 5 minute walk from Blue Lake...

We really enjoyed absolutely perfect location!!
The hotel was a fantastic base for enjoying a picturesque area, really close to Katoomba, and the magnificent caves and walks. Everything was amazing, huge and good sized room with own shower etc.

Marvellous and stunning location wonderful to explore nature, lovely place for a weekend. Also - just off Chisolms restaurant and caves, Lake, walks and open hiking trails. The rooms - functional, comfortable with a QS bed and a bath, as example. A huge variety of delicious food.

This hotel is a great value for money, especially considering its location in an ancient valley of the most unique limestone caves on offer to explore. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. The rooms with a comfy bed were very comfortable, and the renovated bathrooms were a nice touch. Plus, having breakfast included made our mornings hassle-free.
All was great, nothing to complain about!

The food in the main dining room was excellant in its presentation & cooked beautifully
The dishwasher was obviously not washing dishes properly. Everything had grime stuck onto it. Training needs to be given to the staff in waiting on tables & serving drinks. This service is incredibly poor & lets the dining room down. The food was served with a big time delay between guests at the same table. Food was getting cold whilst we waited for others to be served.

The decoration and ambience of the dining room was beautiful, with roaring fires to keep us warm, and the food (and service) excellent at all meals. And of course it's marvellous that the accommodation is so close to the Caves themselves, and surrounded by gorgeous scenery!
It would be nice to have a couple of lighter (sandwich-level) options available for evening meals (the bar menu isn't much different from the restaurant menu), but this is a minor point.

A peaceful retreat
I was pleasantly surprised by the peacefulness of the location. Being away from the hustle and bustle of daily life was exactly what I needed. The beautiful settings and delicious food in the restaurant made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to get away from it all.

Proximity to the caves. The rooms.
1. They had made an error and only had a booking for one room rather than This was rectified on arrival. I hadn't realised how important it was to receive a confirmation directly from them. 2. The microwave in our room was completely inadequate for something advertised as having a 'kitchenette' - too low wattage and took an inordinate amount of time to reheat food we had brought.

the area we sleep in was lovely and warm, the beds comfy and the water hot, old world charm
On our weekend the dining room had a Christmas in July menu which did not appeal to our family so we had food from the bar. This was disappointing as it is quite a limited menu. We had to wait some time to have a table to eat at on the bar floor. It was well cooked but limited. The service was a little disjointed however the staff were friendly.

Wow! What an amazing natural wonder tucked in the Blue Mountains. We had a great time exploring the caves, which were breathtaking. the guided tours were frequent and very informative. We loved the fact that we were in a small group, which made it easier for us to get extra bits that bigger groups don't have time to get to. We chose to go on a weekday out of school holidays, and it turned out to be the best decision we made. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We also enjoyed the food at the restaurant more than we anticipated, and the service was top-notch. the motel-style accommodation we selected was warm and comfortable.
We found the bed a bit uncomfortable and the room needed some renovation. the lighting in the bedroom and the DVD player didn't work.
